VIDEO: Rapper, Killer Mike arrested at Grammys after winning three awards

America rapper, Michael Render, also known as Killer Mike, was taken out of the Grammy Awards in handcuffs on Sunday night.

In a video shared by an Hollywood Reporter, Chris Gardner, Mike was seen being escorted through Arena by police.

The Los Angeles Police Department in a post on X on Monday said the rapper was taken into custody because of a “physical altercation that occurred at the 700 block of Chick Hearn Court.

“The suspect was placed under arrest and  was transported to LAPD Central Division .

“The suspect has been identified as 48-year-old Michael Render and booked for Misdemeanor Battery 243(A) PC, and is in the process of being released.”

An American news media, CBS, reports that Killer Mike swept all three categories he was nominated in: Best Rap Song, Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Album for his self-titled 2024 studio album “Michael.”

“I’m a Black man in America, and as a kid I had a dream to become a part of music. And that nine-year-old is excitedly dancing inside of me right now,” he said in one of his acceptance speeches Sunday.
