The National Guild of Radio Managers (Nigeria) Joins the Rest of the world to celebrate World Radio Day 2023
Written by admin on February 13, 2023
Today, the 13th of February 2023 is marked as World Radio Day proclaimed in 2011 by the Member States of UNESCO, and adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2012 as an International Day.
The theme for the 12th edition of the World Radio Day is “Radio and Peace”.
The National Guild of Radio Managers (Private) subscribes wholly and totally to the WRD celebration and henceforth incorporate it as a national programme worth commemorating and observed by all levels of Guild structure.
The theme for this year is poignant, especially considering the all-important Election Season aimed at promoting the theme: Radio and Peace, particularly as we prepare for the 2023 General Elections in Nigeria. Please ensure at least your station through its programmes effectively mark the WRD 2023 via News Articles, Programmes, News Commentaries, Interviews, Vox Populi, Discussions etc THROUGHOUT THE DAY.
Irrespective of the scope and outcomes of the activities designed to commemorate the WRD by the stations, all member stations will be required to subscribe to the Peace Charter which requires all subscribers to ensure that we all promote peace and Unity especially in the countdown to the forthcoming 2023 General Elections.
The National Guild of Radio Managers (Private) wishes once again to express our commitment to the objectives, tenets and expected outcomes of the World Radio Day.
